Our Britain collection Gents watches, are pure and true to the IWI concept. The balanced design with the crown set at the 12 o'clock position. Sitting proudly on the wrist, stainless steel cases are available in matt or polished finish and black. A variety of dials incorporating black, cream and white faces displaying quarter and full hours markings in red, green, black or even pink.
From the late 17th Century right up until the 20th Century, England was the crucible of horological engineering genius for the entire world. The mastery of time and, more importantly, the ability to navigate the global oceans, was achieved by English horologists paving the way for the great age of discovery.
The original accuracy of all clocks that guided the great naval explorers and warships of the world was measured against the celestial heavens at the Kew Observatory near Richmond setting an 18th Century standard which still more stringent and accurate today than the current COSC Swiss standard. The Prime Meridian sits here in Greenwich and the world takes its time from England.
